I love the combination of red velvet and white chocolate. This is my third recipe creation combining these flavors.
I have been asking Santa for a donut pan for years and he has been ignoring me. Luckily my Sweet Girl had been listening to my pleas because when my birthday rolled around this year and my niece called her to see what I wanted for my birthday - she made my donut dreams come true.
This is my second attempt at donut making, I may have overcooked these donuts a bit but you can only tell in appearance. The flavors were spot on and they were nothing short of delicious!
I was scrolling through some donut recipes online when I found this one for Baked Bourbon Chocolate Glazed Donuts - oddly enough this was the recipe that inspired my creation. I cant explain how bourbon chocolate turned into red velvet and white chocolate chips but it happened and it was great.
I had some cream cheese frosting in the house (don't ask - these things happen) and I decided to pipe some into the centers of these donuts. When I filled the donut pan I added a little extra batter to the donuts so that a small covering formed instead of a hole in the center. That way I had something to hold the frosting. They were almost like little donut bowls....oooh that's an idea.

3/4 cup red velvet cake mix
1 cup Bisquick
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Spray two donut pans with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients; cake mix, Bisquick, sugar and salt.
Once its combined add in the beaten eggs and the milk. Mix until well combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Now fill the donut pan until 3/4 full or add extra to form the little covering. I like to add my batter to a large Ziploc and snip the end and pipe the batter into the pans.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched. Let cool and enjoy with cream cheese frosting or plain.
