Layered Peanut Butter Cups

Homemade PB cups are so much better than store bought. This one has layers of white chocolate and dark chocolate.

I have a few sweet treats I make every single year and this is one of them. Everyone loves the classic combination of peanut butter and chocolate - right? In this peanut butter cup you get two layers of chocolate.  The bottom layer is white chocolate mixed with peanut butter and then the top layer is semi-sweet chocolate, again mixed with peanut butter.  The best part about this recipe is it is so simple to make and yields a ton of PB Cups.  Package these up and give them to all your friends!  That's what I do.  And there are still a bunch left for us to eat. Everyone wins!

Shopping for this recipe is easy too.  You only need three (and one optional) ingredients.

9 1 oz squares of white baking chocolate
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter, divided
8 1 oz squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)

You will also need 60 mini muffin paper cups.

Line up those mini cups on a pan.

In a small saucepan, combine the white chocolate with half the peanut butter and stir over a low heat until smooth.

Spoon into paper cups and refrigerate for about 10 minutes or until chocolate hardens.

Now do the same exact thing with the semi-sweet chocolate and the remaining peanut butter.

Top with optional nuts if you want and refrigerate.

Check out these layers!
