Bread Machine Bread Sticks

Did you know that yesterday was "National Bake Your Own Bread" day?  Yes, it was.  And if you don't know by now - I am always feeding my need to knead. So, with yesterday being a day dedicated to baking your own bread - well -I had no choice but to oblige. I wanted to try a new recipe so I perused my trusty Pinterest board, the one titled, "I Love Bread" and I found a great recipe for Homemade Breadsticks in the Bread Machine, checked my pantry and got to work.

These breadsticks were fantastic!  The raw sugar adds the perfect hint of sweetness to these fluffy on the inside and toasty on the outside breadsticks.  They were topped with a brushing of butter and some salty Parmesan - so good!  I have a slight confession - we ate all of these breadsticks last night.  My kids couldn't stop - they were so good!  Hubby and I may have helped a bit too.  I made a delicious Lentil Stew that I will be posting later in the week, these Breadsticks were perfect for dipping and serving along side.

recipe from Money Saving Mom
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons raw sugar (or brown sugar)
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Directions:
Add all ingredients to the machine and set on dough cycle.
Once the dough cycle is finished, roll the dough out onto a 10×12 greased cookie sheet. Cut the dough into 24 slices and let rise for an hour.
Once the dough rises bake in a preheated 375 degrees for for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden on top.
As soon as you pull the breadsticks out of the oven, brush with melted butter and grate some parmesan cheese over the top.
