SRC - Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Today is my 3 year Blogoversary!  I love that I am celebrating with a SRC Post!

Its time for Secret Recipe Club again - I love being part of this fun club! My favorite part of the SRC is assignment day - I love when I get that e-mail in my inbox with the link to the blog that I get to choose my recipe from. I also love that all of my assignments have all come from blogs I have never been to before, it's really a great opportunity to find some fabulous bloggers out there and some delicious recipes. If you are not familiar with exactly how this club works, you can stop by the website and learn all about it - maybe even join in! Basically you are (secretly) assigned a blog to checkout, browse through their recipes, choose one to make and blog about it. It's a lot of fun!

This month I was assigned C Mom Cook,  Shelley's blog is full of so many delicious recipes.  I had a hard time choosing which bread recipe to make but in the end I chose this delicious Cinnamon Swirl Bread but I will be back again to make her Biscoff Banana Bread.

My kids love this bread!  It is so soft and flavorful and the crust is perfectly golden.  I am so happy I decided to try this recipe, it is going to be a repeater in this house for sure.  I made two changes, first the recipe called for 6 tablespoons of butter, I decided to go with 4.  Second, I made this dough in my bread machine and finished the bread in the oven - so easy and so good....enjoy!!!

recipe adapted from C Mom Cook
For the Dough:
1 cup milk, warm
4 tablespoons butter, melted

2 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

For the Filling:
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon

For brushing on loaf before baking:
1/2 cup milk
1 egg

Place all the ngredients in the bread machine according to you machines directions.  Set themachine on the dough cycle.
Grease a loaf pan and flour your work surface.
When the cycle is complete, turn the dough out onto surface and roll into a rectangle, use your loaf pan as a guide for the width.  The rectangle should be about 18-24 inches long.

Brush the melted butter over the dough and then  sprinkle your cinnamon and sugar mixture over the butter.

Beginning from the far end, roll thedough into a loaf, rolling toward you, and place it seam-side down in prepared loaf pan.

Allow dough to rise for about an hour. It will rise A LOT!!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  While you are waiting for the preheat you can brush the egg and milk mixture over the top of the bread.  Bake the bread for 40 minutes and then cool on rack before serving.
