Delicious Bread Machine Hamburger Buns

Don't forget to enter my giveaway - a $50 Gift Card to Kroger is up for grabs!
and a $25 Gift Card too!

Its summer time and that means it's time to grill.  Hubby's the grill master around here and he made some amazing hamburgers last week.  I made the best hamburger buns to go along with these burgers.  They were so good that I am actually making them again right now as I write this!  I have tried a few different bread machine burger bun recipes in the past and I love this one, its definitely my favorite.  I think it's the sugar that gives it the perfect flavor or maybe it's the buttery crust. The buns are so delicious, a little too good because Little Man likes to sneak in and eat these while we are waiting for the hamburgers to be grilled.  I recommend making a few extra.

As you can see we went with a few different size buns.  My kids helped me make these and I let them make a few different sizes and shapes.  I love having them in the kitchen with me...enjoy!!

recipe from King Arthur Flour
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons butter (chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 1/2 cups flour (I use AP)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon bread machine yeast

  • *topping
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
Directions:
Add your ingredients to the bread machine following your machines directions.
Set it on the dough cycle and let it go.
Once the machine is done, carefully deflate the dough, and divide it into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball and then flatten to about 3" across. Place the hamburger buns on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for about an hour.
Brush the buns with about half of the melted butter and bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden. Remove them from the oven, and brush with the remaining melted butter. This will give the buns a delicious buttery crust.
Cool on rack before serving.

Last year at this time I made Lemony Shrimp with Kielbasa and Chickpeas
Two years ago at this time I made Donut Muffins
