Easy Homemade Donuts
This is a post that should have gone up a long long time ago. We made these homemade, super easy donuts for Chanuka (hence the blue sprinkles)and then we made them again with my niece when she came to visit over winter break (we put powdered sugar on those but I can't find a picture.)
I'll walk you through the steps to this one it is really so easy that it is dangerous. Once you make them you won't be able to stop!
First - Grab your Chefs Hat:
Great, now grab a can of biscuit dough (not the flaky layers one just regular biscuits.) Separate the biscuits.
Make a hole in the center and shape them like donuts.
On the stove you should have a pan with oil in it heating. Enough to come up the sides of your donuts at least halfway. Drop those donuts in the oil when it is hot - keep an eye on them and when you see them begin to brown flip them over. It doesn't take long at all.
Once they are golden all over remove to paper towels so they have a chance to drain a bit. Sprinkle on the topping (for the powdered sugar, my kids like to put the donuts in a brown lunch bag with the powdered sugar and shake it to cover the donuts.)
See - too easy! I told you this was a dangerous recipe...enjoy!!!
Last year at this time I made My Favorite Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Two years ago at this time I made Kielbasa and Cabbage
