Sauteed Kale with Toasted Sesame Seeds and Parmesan

I don't even know where to start with this dish.  I think this may be one of my new favorite dishes.  This is a sauteed kale side dish but it could easily pass for a warm kale salad.  Actually this passed for a cold kale salad when I thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day.  So - what I'm trying to say is if you like kale - you need to try this! 
 I make kale chips a lot and Sweet Girl loves them! So when I served this Sauteed Kale with Toasted Sesame Seeds and Parmesan the other night she looked at me like I was from another planet - "Why isn't the kale crunchy?"  I gave her the usual response "just try it"  - this dish is now Sweet Girl approved!  Although she did add some salad dressing to it but since the dressing was an Asian Ginger dressing I had made and not the white creamy stuff that starts with the letter R out of a bottle -I let it slide (actually I tried it her way and that was really good too!) Of course with his aversion to green food, Little Man wouldn't even go near it.  One day he'll cross over I know he will....enjoy!!!

What you need:
1 bag of kale or about two bunches (stemmed and chopped)
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/8 cup of oil
1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
1/4 cup shredded parmesan
salt and pepper

What you do:
Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; sauté until onion is soft, about 6 minutes. Add half of the kale to the pan and cook until it begins to wilt, tossing often. Add the rest of the kale to the pan and half of  the toasted sesame seeds. Toss until kale is just tender and still bright green, about 3 minutes longer. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer to bowl. Sprinkle with remaining toasted sesame seeds and cheese and serve.

  8. Making this tonight. Thanks for posting. I’m always at a loss at what to do with kale. I usually chop it in very small pieces and add it to our salad. I’ve also done the kale “chip” thing. But this looks yummy!
