Truffle Fudge

I will start off by apologizing for the terrible pics - we were headed out the door to a holiday party with these and I was in a rush to snap them and go.  You can even see my camera in the reflection on the bottom picture - ugh!  But - look past the pics and checkout this fudge.  This might be the BEST fudge I have ever made - no lie.  Its Truffle Fudge and it was a hit at the party.  I am actually planning on making another batch this weekend for gift bags because I really think this fudge needs to be enjoyed by more people. There is a layer of hard chocolate on the bottom and then you get the soft creamy fudge and the crunch from the nuts - so good.  Enjoy!!

Recipe from Kraft Foods
What you need:
2 pkg. (8 squares each)  Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
3 Tbsp.whipping cream
2 tsp. vanilla

What you do:
Line 8-inch square pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Melt 4 chocolate squares in microwave (I melted mine over the stove top); spread onto bottom of prepared pan. Refrigerate 10 min. or until firm.

Microwave or melt on stove top the remaining chocolate and milk in same bowl or pot for 2 to 3 min. or until chocolate is almost melted; stir until completely melted. Add cream and vanilla; mix well. Spread over chocolate layer in pan.

Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Use foil handles to lift fudge from pan before cutting into squares.

When fudge is almost firm, sprinkle with toppings, such as finely chopped Walnuts, colored sugar or sifted unsweetened cocoa powder

  6. what bad pics? it looks fantastic! yum!

tonight i'll be trying to make oreo balls, never tried to make those before.

thanks for your comment. yes, goodwill is wonderful. Especially every first Sat. of each month everything is 50 % off. And on wednesdays and sundays certain things are just 99 cents. it takes time to sort through trash but it's worth it. i just got into thrifting about a year ago, and now am addicted.
Have a wonderful holiday season, friend!
take care, so nice to hear from you!

  15. These sound amazingly easy to make! And i LOVE condensedmilk!! I just have a question though before I'm able to make these yummies....how much is a square of chocolate...?? Are you able to convert it for me into grams or lb's or cups or tablespoons or anything that I can measure, please??! (and if i were to use plain eating dark chocolate...would that be good too...?) Pls email me at naturallymecreations@gmail.com, thanks!!@ :)
