Canvas Photo Gift

I made this gift for my in-laws.  This is a picture of the grandchildren together on our summer vacation.  I used my My Memories Suite software to design the layout and then added the pictures and a quote I found about grandchildren, "The joy of grandchildren is measured in the heart." I printed this up and then gathered the rest of the supplies.

What I used:
1 photo
1 8 x 10 canvas
Mod Podge
Paint brush
champagne colored paint

What I did:
I had my helper coat the canvas with the mod podge:

Then carefully placed the picture on top and mod podged right over it:

I painted the sides and the parts of the canvas that were visible with a paint color that blended in nicely. Let it dry and then found a cute little easel to display it on.

This was so easy and so fun!  I decided to make teacher gifts too - I bought much smaller canvases and I am turning them into ornaments.  Right now I have them drying but as soon as they are done I will have a post for you.

Incidentally if you are interested in learning more about the great software I used click here:

  2. That's awesome! I struggle sometimes to find the right frame and that would totally solve that problem. Thanks for sharing!
