A few months ago my niece came for a visit. I try to make meals special all the time but when we have company, I try to do a bit more. I wanted to make a special dessert for her but when I asked her what she liked, she kept saying fruit. Hmm fruit - but your a kid - that's all you want? But I had a plan - Fondue!! Super easy and super yummy and she loved it!! It had been a while since I broke out the old fondue pot, it definitely does not get enough use. Do you Fondue? What do you put in yours? We had a basic chocolate fondue with lots of fun dip-ins; strawberries, bananas, mango and strawberry marshmallows.
Fun was definitely had by all!
recipe from Extreme Chocolate
What you need:
16 ounces dark, sweet or semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
What you do:
Add chips to pot or if using squares break into smaller pieces and drop them into the fondue pot.
Add cream (which will prevent the chocolate from going lumpy) and stir gently but constantly until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
Add vanilla extract, and stir it in.
