Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork

Its Friday! That means it's time for another Your Recipe- My Kitchen Post.

This Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork was actually last nights dinner - thank you C+C Marriage Factory for coming to my rescue!  Early yesterday I decided it was way too hot to even think about turning on the oven or standing over the stove.  I knew I wanted to throw something in my slow cooker and not heat up the house.  I had a pork roast defrosted and thought I had a plan for dinner when I was distracted by Pinterest (you know how this goes.)  I pinned this dish on Pinterest and opened the link for the recipe and noticed it was from Christina, I also noticed that I had commented on this dish before about wanting to try it - so I did!  Her dish was made with a pork loin - mine with the pork roast (I started buying pork shoulder roast after I noticed a lot of recipes on Gina's Skinny Recipes using it - I buy it when the loins aren't on sale.)  This dish was so simple and so good!  The Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glaze was amazing and I think I will make it again and try it on chicken or salmon (or maybe just eat it with a spoon out of the saucepan  - yes that good!)  I will also add - Kids loved it too - even Little Man.  Enjoy!!

What you need:
1 (2 pound) boneless pork loin or roast (fat removed)
1 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 cup water
For the Glaze
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce

What you do:
Combine sage, salt, pepper and garlic in a a small bowl. Rub over the pork. Place in slow cooker with water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. About 1 hour before pork is done, combine ingredients for glaze in small sauce pan. Heat and stir until mixture thickens - this won't take long. Brush pork with glaze 2 or 3 times during the last hour of cooking. Serve with remaining glaze poured over top.
