Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Rice Krispie Treats

We had a sweet tooth last night and decided to throw together some Rice Krispie Treats.  We started to just make them the regular way  - just following the directions.  We got as far as "melt the butter" when we decided to make a few adjustments.  If you follow along you  know we love some peanut butter in this house, we went ahead and added a bunch (that's the measurement we used - a bunch) to the melted butter and the kids helped to blend it.

(That would be a pot of Cajun bean soup cooking next to it)

We then removed the pot from the heat and added the marshmallows.  When they were melted we poured in the box of Rice Krispies.
We found a half a bag of mini chocolate chips in the pantry and decided they needed to be in the pot too.

(this is Little Man sitting on the counter top stirring away.)

I was still in the Valentines Day spirit so I broke out the heart shaped cookie cutter.

YUM!!
