Happy New Year everyone! Here is the dish I made for a little get together last night. We rang in the new year with some jalapeno popper dip (and many other delicious dishes.) I found this recipe on Our Best Bites and knew I had to give it a try. It came out great! I served this dip with some crackers but it could easily be served with sliced bread or chips (I think my husband was using Fritos to scoop this deliciousness up). Enjoy!
2 (8-oz.) packages cream cheese, softened (light works great)
1 c. mayonnaise (light also works here, but DON'T use Miracle Whip!)
1 c. Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced
2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced
1 (4-oz.) can fire roasted green chilies
1 (4-oz.) can diced jalapeno peppers, drained
8oz bacon, cooked and crumbled
8oz bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preheat oven to 350. Reserve 2-3 Tbs of bacon and sprinkle on top of dip before baking. Combine cream cheese, mayo, parmesan, and garlic and stir until smooth.
Add jalapenos and green chilies. Stir in bacon. Spread dip into a 9" pie plate or a small baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining bacon. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until dip is bubbly and golden brown.

That's one I have to try. Sounds amazing!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, does this ever sound good! I love jalapeno poppers but have never made them as they seem like they'd be a bit of a pain in the neck to make, lol. This is a much easier version. Sounds so delicious. I like the idea of using Fritos to scoop up all that deliciousness. Thank you so much for sharing with Cookbook Sundays today and I hope you have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteI'm also visiting from This Week's Cravings. Love the idea of not stuffing all those little peppers. Your hubby has it right, fritos would be perfect for dipping. Thanks for the idea.
