Our Tree

Our tree has a little bit of everything on it - but I absolutely love it!

I love hanging words on the tree; "wish", "peace" and "joy " are a few that we have on our tree.

I love these very special handmade ornaments that a good friend of mine makes every year.  We have quite a few -these are little snowman faces.  We also have the kids initials and some with snowmen representing the entire family.
We even have a very special angel snowman at the top of the tree that she made for me the year my father passed away.

Every year the kids get a chance to pick out their own ornament.  We put their name and the year on the back.  It is usually a good representation of what they are interested in that year.  We have a guitar and ballerina that Sweet Girl picked out.  A red race car and Santa on firetruck are a few that Little Man has chosen.

But my absolute favorite decorations are the artwork we collect year after year.  We hang anything on the tree; cute picture frames they make in school, big stockings made out of colored paper and cotton, we even have a dreidel or two that they made to represent our interfaith family - these are definitely my favorites!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

  1. Your tree is beautiful and so full of memories. As a special tree should be. I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas.

  2. Hi Danielle, I found your blog through Donnie and wanted to say Merry Christmas. I love your tree and all the special ornaments you have collected. I look back now at the ornaments that my nieces/nephews chose when they were young and it is fun to see how their interests have changed through the years.
I clicked and read the post you wrote in honor of your Dad. May God bless you today and in the New Year.

  3. Hi Danielle. I'm Jerri from the blog Simply Sweet Home. I'm the one who organized the Holly Bloggy Christmas events, and I'm excited to tell you that you won one of the giveaways at Tidy Mom! Please send me an email at to claim your prize! Thanks!

  4. Found your blog through Location Central (I'm in TN too!) :)

And your tree is adorable! Our big Christmas tree looks much the same (we have three smaller trees throughout the house). It has ornaments from our years growing up as children as well as an ornament from each place my husband and I have traveled since we've been married and since my husband's family tradition is to put Christmas cards on the tree... we do that too! It is one very crowded tree. But it makes me smile to look at it. :)

  5. Love all the personalized ornaments. Thanks for linking up:)

I Love Hearing From You!
