So, a while ago I bookmarked an entry I saw on
Mamamonster with a great tutorial on how to make fabric flowers, you can find it
here. I have been so busy getting ready for the holidays, birthdays, company and well life in general that I forgot all about it. The kids had a snow day today and I tend to use that as an excuse to take off from my Monday rituals of cleaning, cooking, laundry etc. And I remembered this tutorial. It is easy to follow and I made these
on my first try after just a few tries. Yes, I did burn a few fingers in the process and cover my nails with hot glue but I think in the tutorial she did as well - so in my mind that means I did it right!
Here's what I started with - just a plain pink knit ear warmer only $1.49 at Walmart:
Here's what I added made with scraps of fabric I got from a friend free:
Here's what it looks like in the end, I glued the flowers on to small safety pins so I can change them up with different flowers I plan on making in the future (tomorrow is another snow day after all.)
This looks sooo adorable! What a cute idea for keeping those ears warm in the winter! Thanks for linking up to the Pink Hippo Party!
