Magazine Holder

My magazine holder needed a major upgrade.  This particular piece is in a small bathroom in the house not out in the middle of the living area.  One of the things I am working on in the house is trying to add a bit of whimsy where I can. I figured I could cutesy this up a bit by choosing to print "Read" in a font that wasn't so pretty and serious.  How do you add whimsy to your house?

  5. Oh I love this!
    I have almost the same exact magazine holder in my bedroom that I need to move to another area, its not in bad shape the wood is actually really nice on it but I think I could give it a spruce up by painting it a brighter color, maybe white or a blue-gray or something. im not positive yet but I think this idea is really cute!
